Are there any scrapbookers out there in Yahoo! answerland?

I love to scrapbook! I have a dedicated room in my house for just scrapbooking. Any one with tips or computer tricks for this craft are welcome to reply.

I am an avid scrapbooker. This may not help you, but it works well for me…I begin by organizing all of the photos I wish to put in my scrapbook. I organize them by event or date in a photo organizer of some sort (usually a small, photo-sized accordian file, or I create albums in iphoto on my mac). After they are organized I crop all of the photos. I find this is easier than waiting and doing it while creating the page layout, because the focus of each page should be on the photos and if they are already cropped it’s easy to lay them on the empty page and design around them. Once I have cropped all of the photos I decide on an order (what photos I want to begin my scrapbook with, and so on). I pull out all of the photos for my first section and decide on an appropriate page layout for the photos (this includes what paper I will use, shape designs, and colors that best match the photos). After I have completed the layouts of all pages in that section, I go back and journal and add titles. The last thing I do is add stickers (I find if I sticker before journaling I end up adding too many and take up too much space, making my pages look cluttered and taking focus away from my photos). You may not choose to scrapbook as I do, but I have found that this is a very efficient and fun way to scrapbook. I end up completing six pages in one sitting as opposed to one or two before I developed this method. Anyway, that’s my advice. I hope it was worth something. Have fun scrapbooking!!!!!

I have a room in my place for crafts, too! I finally have it organized, so it looks really cute! Being organized has helped me so much. I’m looking to find interesting pieces now to organize my materials — things such as old library card catalogs and different looking boxes.

(I’m more of a card-maker, but I’m starting to get into making actual scrapbooks.)
